Eating conditions can have adverse health effects in acute cases and can also lead to death if left untreated. Those with eating disorders can experience a number of symptoms. Many include extreme dietary limits, dietary binges, or expelling habits such as vomiting or over-exercise.

During adolescence and early adulthood, bulimia continues to evolve and seems to be less frequent among men than among women. Individuals with bulimia also consume vast quantities of food over a given period of time. Each episode of binge feeding generally lasts until the person becomes painfully complete. Bulimia people then continue to expel to compensate for the calories expended to alleviate pain in the stomach. Forced vomiting, fasting, sedatives, diuretics, laxatives, and impulsive behavior include typical purging habits. However, rather than being underweight, people with bulimia typically keep a relatively average weight.
