Places to Visit

1. Swamy Cheluvanarayana Temple

Every year, thousands of pilgrims visit the Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple, a highly famous Hindu temple. Lord Vishnu or Cheluvanarayana, situated on Yadavagiri and Yadugiri Hill, is the presiding deity of this temple. In the form of gems and wealth provided by the local Mysuru Rulers, the temple has a lot of riches.

2. Yoganarasimha Temple

As the name shows, the temple is that of Narasimha's half-man and half-lion avatar of Lord Vishnu installed by his devotee Prahalad. Prahalad's father was a demon named Hiranyakashipu, who attempted to destroy his son in different ways to devote himself to Lord Vishnu. The Lord finally took Narasimha's avatar and destroyed Hiraynyakashipu. The temple, located on the top of the Yadugiri Hills, offers stunning scenic views of the Yadugiri Hills. Importantly, it is claimed that even great avatars such as Lord Krishna and Rama have worshipped the deity here.

3. Dhanushkoti

This site is clearly linked to an event in Ramayana. According to mythology, Lord Rama sprouted a spring of water with his arrow-strike to quench the thirst of his wife Sita.
