Anup Pai, along with Ravinder Mahori and Ravi Haldipur, began eSamudaay in July this year to introduce the advantages of digital solutions to local communities in the easiest way, where local e-commerce will flourish and create networks of its own. The Bengaluru-based start-up is now operational with about 50 sellers onboard in the temple of Udupi town in Karnataka and claims to add over 10 sellers a week. The technology platform is similar to a plug-and-play infrastructure for fostering entrepreneurship and building an e-commerce network in smaller cities between vendors and customers without a big company's top-down approach.

“Our platform can be used by a person to organise the community, digitise the merchants, and to get consumers on board. It becomes a trusted community platform,” says Anup.

Using a web app, the local entrepreneur who signs up with eSamudaay will digitalise the seller's inventory and even pull in customers or users. In addition, they may also build a logistics squad to achieve some form of e-commerce purchase.
