First Zero-Waste Cafe in Bengaluru- ''Amma Maadiddu''
Of the myriad options to explore that exist in Malleswaram, we are now adding another eatery to the ever-increasing list of places in this city that can please your taste buds.
Since the 1970s, Karnataka Traveling Centre and Fruit Juice were recently rechristened to Eat Raja-Amma Maadiddu on the Sampige Road in Malleswaram after changing the juice shop's core motif. RJ turned businessman Anand Raj, who comes from the same family that used to run the juice bar at the same venue, is the man behind this transformation. How will a restaurant/juice shop even accomplish such a tag? Where are the endless plastic containers, cups, and bottles going to go? Read on to find out how this joint has accomplished this distinction if you have the same questions running in your head. The management serves all their liquid savories at this juice shop in cups/glasses that are completely made of fruit shells. Yeah, you heard it correctly.
Bananas, watermelon, muskmelon, pineapple fruit shells are all converted into eco-friendly cutleries that are then used to service customers here.
Apart from a few citrus peels, from which bio-enzymes are collected to help clean the floors and furniture here these fruit shells are fed to animals after use. Metal straws or straws made from coconut leaves, thereby reducing the use of plastic straws. Eat Raja-Amma Maadiddu has become the first Zero-Waste Cafe in the city in this unusual way. In addition to serving home-made food, they make fresh fruit juices without any adulteration or dilution, just like a 'Mother' prepares it.
The juices are usually available in varieties, and you can try all of them over the next few weeks if you live anywhere similar to this juice bar. Many of these variations are Watermelon + Pomegranate, Apple + Pink Dragon, Avacado + Raspberry, Sunmelon + Pink Dragon and all are unique in their own way. This cafe will leave an unforgettable experience.
